ABOUT
Shandon Jude Herft is a Computational Designer based in New York City. He currently works at Thornton Tomasetti’s CORE studio as part of the CORE Modeling Group. He specializes in leveraging advanced computational and BIM methodologies for high-complexity projects.
Shandon’s portfolio includes contributions to over ten major projects, ranging from supertall skyscrapers and international airports to major league sports venues and cultural institutions.
Shandon holds a Master of Science in Computational Design from Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to CMU, he graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor's in Architecture and a Master's in Construction Management from Illinois Institute of Technology.
His academic interests include Robotics and Virtual Reality. His thesis focused on developing a bidirectional interaction framework that connects Grasshopper, RobotStudio, Unity, and the Meta Quest 3. Shandon has previously worked with renowned architecture firms, including KPF, Gensler, PALMA, and SOBHA.
Shandon is usually learning something new or logging a new experience. He’s currently working his way through the OSSU Computer Science curriculum, with a focus on machine learning, while also streaming on Twitch. You might also catch him on the football field, hitting local hiking trails, exploring the city's food scene, or curating his favorite films on Letterboxd.
